Dr. Keith Ekhator is a Nashville native and has over a decade of social work experience working with at-risk populations and people from diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Ekhator attended one of the best Historic Black Universities in the land, Tennessee State University (TSU), where he received his Bachelors of Social Work. He completed his graduate studies at Western Kentucky University's Master of Social Work program where he was able to hone his clinical skills and learn best practices on supervision & administration. He went on to procure a Doctorates of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University.
Dr. Ekhator is passionate about mental health services. He has worked as a school social worker for Metro Nashville Public Schools and a school-based therapist for Centerstone. Dr. Ekhator is also credited for curriculum development for the following courses at TSU: School Social Work Practice, and Social Policy Analysis. He now currently works for the Department of Veteran Affairs as a Social Work Coordinator for the Veteran’s Crisis Line.
Dr. Ekhator founded his own clinical practice, Ekhator Counseling Solutions, where he assists people in finding answers for life’s greatest challenges. Dr. Ekhator has been invited to speak at conferences around the country on the following areas of expertise which include trauma informed clinical practices, school social work, evidenced based clinical interventions, administration and supervision, and research & evaluation.
Keith's greatest achievement is his family. He spends his free time hanging with his loving wife and three kids where he feels his impact and presence should be felt the most.
